expressively jOhO is now a crowd

Three’s a crowd, but definitely not a problem, as we warmly invite our newest and possibly brightest (perhaps we’ve grown dim over the years) photographer, Amos Leong, to our ranks and will be promoting his packages for actual day and pre wedding, local and overseas! His portfolio and images will be up faster than freshly baked cookies so stay tuned!

So, who the heck is Amos? Here’s a peek:

=)

We are glad to have Amos’ experience and insight into our team and we are sure that many couples are going to be delighted with his work, aptitude and personality. Very soon, there will be updates of his work here on the blog, on the main website and on facebook.

If you’re like me, and good things CANNOT wait, you had better email us now for his package deals and snap him up before the cookies go stale, or all the dates are booked up, neither of which you want happening… =)

It is an exciting day! We are growing because of your support, and now Amos can join in the joy that you have brought us as our esteemed clients!

christopher . veronica . slideshow (bridals in singapore)

my usual repertoire of national library and botanic gardens resulted in anything but usual shots, thanx to c&v’s vibrance and chirpiness. it almost seems like non-singaporean born chris is able to withstand singapore’s heat better than most locals!

the connection between the two is strong, both at ease with each other as well as the camera, which is great seeing as both have very different backgrounds. v doesn’t try to act angmoh, and c doesn’t try to act singaporean. that is just how it shld be. and somehow that bodes well in any reln, being yourself, and being accepted for you. i learn alot when i obeserve couples, and this was a positive lesson.

so, angmoh gentleman marries local sg hottie, pics for proof below! =)

Overseas Bridal/Wedding Photography Promotions 2010/2011 + FAQ!

As you might be aware, attched below are the promotions for our overseas bridal photography shoots for 2010 and 2011. And below that is an FAQ for the inquisitive! We love inquisitive people!

Q: Why should I go overseas to shoot?
A: I think it’s the same reason why you would choose to go overseas anyway. Holiday, relax, romantic/casual/fun getaway together, good/better weather than sg, cheap beer, great shopping, great sights/scenary. There is no “bad” reason for taking your bridal images overseas, except of course it’s usually a higher cost. So if you can afford it, don’t wait!

Q: Why should I go overseas to shoot with expressively jOhO?
A: Because we have so much fun travelling together! We have NEVER had a bad or even lukewarm experience with any of my couples travelling together for shoot. It is always wonderful. And that’s a great statistic, because the number of couples shooting with us is large and constantly growing.

Q: Can we go to other locations/cities/countries that are not listed in the promotion?
A: Most certainly yes. To be honest, we rather like to have a couple suggest a place to go that we haven’t thought of or planned to, then make THAT location part of the promo for that period. Sounds like a great plan doesn’t it? (sorry, I’m not supposed to answer a question with another right?)

Q: What if on the planned day of the shoot, it rains/hails/snows?
A: I assume you think rain/hail/snow is bad. =P It’s not always, but I see your concern. Besides the fact that we can still shoot in “bad” weather, we also usually schedule 2 days for our overseas sessions. By hook or by crook, the 2 days will allow us to create an album that you will treasure for years to come. We’ve realised that one day is a little risky, so 2 days is nice!

Q: Why is it so expensive?
A: Packages include our travel and accommodation expenses so it is naturally higher than our local packages. However, the more couples that come with us for a particular city, the cheaper it becomes because of economies of scale. We pass the savings this way down to you. So recommending your friends to sign on together not only gets you a better deal, but also better traveling companions than us. Oh wait… *rubs chin* You get the idea!

Q: We want to go to Alaska/Mauritius/Seychelles/Cyprus/Egypt, have you been there before?
A: Nope, never been close to those places.

Q: Then how can you be so sure you can shoot well when you haven’t been there?
A: We shoot well when we go to 3rm HDB flats that we’ve never been to for AD weddings so I’m guessing Alaska/Mauritius/Seychelles/Cyprus/Egypt shouldn’t be a problem. =P

Q: I want to see more overseas images taken by you, where can I find them?
A: One sure way is to book us, you’ll definitely get images of yourselves in an overseas location of your choice. =) Otherwise, our Facebook page is laden with delicious and mouth-watering images from cities like Venice, Berlin, Melbourne, Taipei, Hong Kong, Tokyo and more!

Q: I want to have my bridals done overseas, what do I do now?
A: Make an appointment with us by emailing inquiry@expressivelyjoho.com or calling Jonathan at 93825536 or Michael at 94798266.

Shikai . Ivony (Wedding Day)

Images to share from Shikai & Ivony’s wedding day

Melvin . Yuling (Wedding Day Preview)

Though I am down with flu (1st time in almost a year that i am truly sick!!! darn), it ain’t gonna stop me from going out to grab you guys the best images i can manage. It has been fantastic thus far and i am sure we will have great fun at ACM later! Here’s a few preview shots for ya, the rest will have to wait (long long hahahaha)

sheng join . pui yu . slideshow (bridals in new zealand)

New Zealand has always been a must visit place. So with high expectations I went, and with most other things, high expectations are met with slight disappointment, but not with New Zealand. No matter how high your expectations are, they will be exceeded. If you believe in God, this is where you see his awesomeness most obviously. Either that, or the child in your arms, if you have one =)

It helped that i had a good run thru the awesome mountain roads from lake tekapo to queenstown. py was sleeping soundly behind, so my driving should have been smooth. i won’t talk about the speed. =P

I am also extra thankful for the hospitality and warmth of sj and py, extremely easy-going and long-suffering, allowing me to get such amazing shots. it’s not always the photographer, actually it’s always not just the photographer that matters. not even the location, it’s the couple. =)

wai kit . jasmine . slideshow (bridals in singapore and malacca)

Been a while since I’ve posted any work on this blog, I do hope though, that you have been to our facebook page to have a look at the most current work.

Nevertheless, I will strive to also update here, and what better way to end my “silence” with wai kit and jasmine’s bridal images.

i love it when a couple takes the time and effort to come up with a theme; locations and attire (and photographer!) all come in unison in a collection of images that you wouldn’t get otherwise. once in a lifetime? cliche perhaps, but they took this seriously =) i really did like that very much.
